Senior Scrum Master

About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master to join our dynamic team. This individual will be responsible for leading and facilitating the Scrum process within a cross-functional development team. You will work closely with product owners, feature owners, and team leads to manage dependencies, ensure smooth collaboration across teams, and drive continuous improvement within our agile processes.

You will help manage the product roadmap, ensuring the team is aligned with company goals and deliverables. You will coach and mentor teams, while also helping to implement best practices for agile delivery at scale.

Operating across three continents, Cynomi is leading the vCISO (virtual Chief Information Security Officer) market category with rapidly growing demand for its AI-powered vCISO platform, which empowers service providers (MSPs and MSSPs) to provide high quality cybersecurity services to their customers.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies: Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews to ensure smooth operation of the Scrum framework.

Manage Dependencies: Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as development, operations, and product management, to identify and manage dependencies, blockers, and risks.

Roadmap Management: Collaborate with Product and Feature Owners to ensure the roadmap reflects realistic timelines and capacity, including feature prioritization.

Support Agile Transformation: Champion continuous improvement within the agile process. Identify bottlenecks, recommend process changes, and help teams mature in their Scrum practices.

Foster Collaboration: Act as a servant leader and remove obstacles for the teams to ensure they can focus on delivering high-quality products. Encourage open communication and transparency.

Metrics & Reporting: Maintain and communicate team performance and progress to stakeholders. Use metrics (e.g., burndown charts, velocity) to guide decision-making.

Coaching & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Scrum Masters, product owners, and team members to help them develop their agile practices.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and work proactively with stakeholders to mitigate issues that could impact delivery timelines.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment, managing dependencies and complex projects
  • Certifications: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or equivalent Agile certifications
  • Agile Expertise: Deep understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Lean principles. Practical experience working in SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks is a plus
  • Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to interact with stakeholders, senior management, and cross-functional teams. Strong collaborator with the ability to drive results through effective communication. Charismatic and confident, not afraid of challenges
  • Problem Solving: Proven track record of removing obstacles and managing dependencies within a large, dynamic environment
  • Collaboration: Strong ability to build relationships across teams and departments. Comfortable working with Product and Feature Owners to manage requirements
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience with Jira, Confluence, or other Agile project management tools
  • Leadership: Ability to coach and guide teams on Scrum principles and practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written)

  • Experience with Roadmap Planning: Experience in working with product owners and team leads to manage and implement a strategic product roadmap
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Experience managing inter-team dependencies in large-scale Agile organizations
  • Knowledge of other Methodologies: Familiarity with other Agile methodologies such as Lean or Kanban
  • Experience in Technical Environments: Working knowledge of software development processes, especially in areas of cloud computing, enterprise software, or data management
  • Multi-Version Management: Previous experience in working with multiple versions of a product and understanding the complexities involved in maintaining version control across teams
