Cybersecurity and Compliance Expert

About us

Cynomi is a fast-growing, Silicon Valley VC-backed cybersecurity startup. Experiencing massive growth over the past year, our SaaS product is used by hundreds of service providers worldwide.

Operating across three continents, Cynomi is leading the vCISO (virtual Chief Information Security Officer) market category with rapidly growing demand for its AI-powered vCISO platform, which empowers service providers (MSPs and MSSPs) to provide high quality cybersecurity services to their customers.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Cynomi Framework:

  • Develope, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Cynomi’s core framework and logic, including guidelines, best practices, procedures, and protocols, ensuring alignment with industry standards
  • Develop and validate customized use cases for businesses of various sizes and industries to ensure the framework addresses unique challenges and requirements
  • Simplify platform content to make it intuitive, actionable, and enriched with helpful tips, enabling customers to onboard and utilize the platform efficiently

Lead Data Mapping and Integration

  • Study, analyze, and map external compliance frameworks and technical data (e.g., scanners, threat intelligence) into Cynomi’s platform, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with the framework
  • Use and improve AI-driven tools to streamline and automate data mapping processes, conducting research to refine algorithms and enhance scalability

Act as a Subject Matter Expert

  • Serve as the go-to expert for cybersecurity and compliance, representing Cynomi in discussions with customers and industry professionals
  • Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity trends and technologies to enhance and innovate the platform’s features and content continually

Support Enablement Initiatives

  • Partner with Sales, Solution Engineers (SEs), Customer Account Managers (CAMs), and Partner Account Managers (PAMs) to deliver enablement and training for internal teams and external partners
  • Assist in training partners to optimize their use of the Cynomi platform

Collaborate with Technical Teams

  • Work closely with R&D and Product teams to refine and improve content creation processes, implement new features, and ensure methodologies are industry-compliant, user-friendly, and value-driven

Engage with CISOs and Consultants

  • Foster relationships with CISOs, partners, and consultants to gather feedback, refine methodologies, and enhance platform content
  • Build and lead a professional network of partners to contribute feedback and support content creation initiatives

Requirements

  • At least 8 years in information security, with at least 5 years as an auditor, CISO or similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Advanced degrees and certifications (CISSP, CISM) are an advantage
  • · Background in implementing or auditing regulatory standards like ISO 27001, NIST-CSF, GDPR, HIPAA or PCI-DSS, or other compliance frameworks and writing policies, procedures, or best practices
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, gap analyses, or security audits for organizations
  • Hands-on experience using security tools like SIEM systems (Splunk, QRadar), threat intelligence platforms, or vulnerability scanners
  • Proficiency in Excel, GRC platforms, and project management tools; familiarity with SQL is a plus
  • Experience in providing tailored security solutions or advising clients on best practices based on their unique business needs
  • Familiarity with leveraging AI tools for tasks like automation of data mapping, compliance reporting, or content validation – plus
  • Strong ability to analyze complex data, frameworks, and processes, ensuring high output accuracy
  • Fluency in English, capable of engaging professionally with global stakeholders, internally and externally, including CISOs and senior leaders
  • Ability to lead initiatives independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Passion for understanding and addressing customer needs
