Turn Your Security Practice Into a Certified Business Advantage
Cynomi doesn’t just help you deliver security. Now it helps you prove it. Out-position competitors who can only promise security, and turn that proof into lower insurance costs and cyber warranties for your customers.
This is what happens when security becomes more than protection. It becomes a business advantage.
The security services you deliver through Cynomi can now be independently assessed and certified through SPECTRA, transforming your security program into a third-party credential, built with cybersecurity experts and cyber insurers, that proves what you already deliver, sets you apart from competitors, and creates measurable financial value for both your practice and your clients.
Without additional audits, consultants, or months of preparation, Cynomi partners can validate the quality of their security services, differentiate themselves in competitive markets, unlock warranty-backed security guarantees for clients, reduce insurance costs, and create new revenue opportunities.

The Opportunity You Already Have
Most MSPs, MSSPs and vCISO cyber advisory firms are competing in a market where everyone claims to offer the same thing. Security is a given, MDR is table stakes, and proposals are evaluated on price. This program changes the nature of the competition.
For your practice, that means:
- 01 Proof of the security work you already do
- 02 A competitive edge your rivals can’t fake
- 03 Real financial upside with lower insurance costs and warranty-backed security guarantees, for you and for the clients you serve
How the SpectraCare certification
changes the game
Most providers claim expertise. Few can prove it.
Through Cynomi, the security services you already deliver can be independently assessed and certified, transforming your program into a credential clients, prospects, and insurers can trust.
Security should improve financial outcomes, not just reduce perceived risk.
Certified partners help clients access preferential cyber insurance programs with premium reductions of up to 35%, while reducing their own cyber E&O premiums by up to 25%, delivering measurable financial value for everyone involved.
You’re already delivering security through Cynomi. Now it creates additional business value.
Certification unlocks cyber warranties, stronger retention, increased close rates, and qualified leads from brokers — transforming security delivery from an operational service into a growth engine.

Certification Tiers at a Glance

Real ResultsHow NextTech Turned Certification Into a Client’s 30% Insurance Savings
L2 Certified · 30% client premium reduction at renewal · SpectraCare included in every contract · 3 controls reviewed: MDR, BEC, Backup
The challenge NextTech was delivering quality security services but had no external proof of it. Prospects who didn’t already know the team had no reason to trust their claims over any other MSP’s.
The solution SPECTRA independently reviewed NextTech’s stack against defined controls — MDR with 24×7 SOC, BEC protection with phish-resistant MFA, and immutable backup with tested recovery. One vendor failed review, and NextTech replaced it.
The result Pete Miller, owner of client Caravan Coffee, renewed his cyber insurance through a NextTech-certified service and environment — his premium came back 30% lower, and two more client renewals are in progress. For clients with twelve or more employees, NextTech now absorbs the cost of SpectraCare directly in the service contract, so the client pays nothing extra. In sales conversations, the pitch is direct: a third party reviews the work, and if NextTech is wrong, the payout goes to the client — not to NextTech.
A third party reviews the work. If it’s wrong, the client gets paid — not the MSP.
What Our Partners Say
How the Certification Works
- 01Self-assessment via Cynomi
Use or refresh your existing Cynomi self-assessment. For most active partners, this data is already current. Upload mandatory evidence tied to L1–L3 tiers based on your service coverage and warranty goals.
- 02Cynomi submits to SPECTRA
Cynomi maps your assessment outputs to SPECTRA’s certification criteria and submits the package on your behalf.
- 03Validation and level assignment
SPECTRA reviews the submission within 2–3 business days and assigns you to Level 1, 2, or 3 based on services and maturity.
- 04Certification, listing, and warranty activation
You appear on the SPECTRA MSP Finder map, receive your certification badge, and can begin registering clients for SpectraCare cyber warranties and insurance quotes from broker and insurer partners. Each client receives a Certificate of Resilience upon activation.
- 05Referrals and annual renewal
The insurer and broker qualified leads pipeline becomes active. Certification renews annually, and as you improve your posture or expand service offerings, tier upgrades follow.
Backed by Leading Carriers and Brokers
SPECTRA certification is developed and regularly updated in partnership with cybersecurity experts, cyber and insurance carriers, including relationships with Lloyd’s of London syndicates, Dual, and Ledgebrook, and is built on the same criteria leading insurers use in underwriting decisions. SPECTRA also works with major North American broker partners, including HUB International and RT Specialty, with live placements flowing today.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same as a SOC 2 or ISO 27001?
No. SOC 2 and ISO audits evaluate process compliance, whether your policies and procedures are documented and followed. SPECTRA evaluates operational security maturity: what your tech stack actually does, what your team can actually respond to, and what outcomes your services actually deliver. SPECTRA is built on the same criteria participating insurers use for underwriting decisions, which means it carries financial weight that compliance audits do not.
Is a SpectraCare warranty just cyber insurance with a different label?
No. SpectraCare warranties are not insurance — it is a security performance warranty paid out by SPECTRA directly to your customer. If a certified security service underperforms during a qualifying cyber incident, the warranty value is paid. The standard terms can be embedded in your existing Statement of Work with no additional client contracts required.
What exactly does a SpectraCare warranty cover, and do these warranties actually pay out?
Warranties are tied to five specific security service categories: Managed Detection and Response, Firewall, Disaster Recovery, Backup, Endpoint Security, and Business Email Compromise Protection. Each has a defined performance threshold and response SLA published upfront. For example, the MDR warranty pays out if a ransomware or malware event occurs and the endpoint cannot be isolated and recovered within a defined timeframe. Because the triggers are specific and transparent rather than left to adjuster discretion, payout is predictable rather than a point of dispute.
Do my clients need to switch insurance agent?
No. Clients can keep their existing insurance agent or broker. Through SPECTRA’s broker referral program, clients can access preferential quoting with no technical questionnaires required — useful for clients shopping for coverage or facing renewal, but never a requirement to participate.
Can I sell cyber insurance directly through SPECTRA?
No. Cyber insurance is a regulated product and must be sold by a licensed broker. As a certified MSP, you refer clients to a SPECTRA broker partner instead — you’re not acting as an insurance seller, and there’s no licensing burden on your team.
Do I actually receive leads through the program, or is it just a discount?
You receive both. Cyber insurers and brokers refer their clients who need better security to SPECTRA-certified MSPs — a cooperative, warm-lead partnership, not a passive perk. Level 3 partners receive preferential placement in those referrals.
What happens if a client gets breached — does SPECTRA or insurers come after the MSP?
No. SPECTRA’s insurance partners commit not to pursue subrogation against the certified MSP after an incident, and not to recommend replacing the MSP’s tooling with their own.
How long does certification take?
SPECTRA’s standard timeline is 3–5 business days from receipt of complete documentation. Cynomi partners move faster: because your self-assessment data already exists in the platform, initial preparation typically takes a few hours rather than days, with SPECTRA’s own review still completing in 2–3 business days on top of that.
How much does the program cost?
Pricing is proportional to the size of your managed service practice and the certification level achieved, with volume and performance-based discounts available. Level 1 starts at $875/mo, Level 2 at $1,250/mo, and Level 3 at $2,500/mo and include a pool of pre-paid SpectraCare warranties of $100k/$250k/$500k across Levels 1/2/3 respectively. Additional SpectraCare warranties can be purchased separately.
What support do I get as a certified partner?
Every partner is assigned a dedicated onboarding cyber security specialist, the SPECTRA marketing team, and quarterly business reviews. You also receive a sales pitch deck, talk tracks, email templates, certification and warranty guides, and use cases and case studies to support your sales motion and positioning the SpectraCare certification and warranties, and assist with the preferred insurance referral program.
Is there a renewal requirement?
Yes. Certification is reviewed annually. Partners provide QBR inputs (sales impact, client wins, feedback) and submit evidence for recertification, a lighter lift than the initial certification since most of the underlying data is already current in Cynomi.
Does the certification tell my clients which security vendor products to use?
No. SPECTRA is stack-agnostic. Certification validates security outcomes and service delivery standards, not specific vendors. You’re not required to adopt or replace any tooling to participate.
